Rutgers Honorary Doctor of LettersRutgers: The State University of New Jersey conferred an Honorary
Doctor of Letters to Judy. This degree recognizes Judy's lifetime
accomplishments in capturing the emotions of young people, providing
communications between and among generations and being avigorous
advocate of intellectual liberty.

is an educational initiative of WETA, the flagship public television
and radio station in the nation's capital. In this interview Judy
shares how books can be a gateway to talking about difficult subjects,
why her own parents' confusing explanation of puberty led her to
write about the topic, and why she swears each book she writes will
be her last.
