Thank you, thank you for all your wonderful notes. I only wish I could respond to each of you personally. But in order to start a new book I need serious thinking time, which means less time for e-mail. Hope you understand. Just want you to know that my assistant and I read this guestbook every day, and that your continued love and support are a constant inspiration.

I am a second grade teacher and we have been reading our Soupy Saturday as readalouds. The kids are loving them!!! We are in the middle of writing persuasive letters to people. Our class decided to write one to you. I wanted to take a picture of it, however I am unable to attach it here. Is there a place I can send it to?

Hi Judy,
I'm extremely excited to take the Master Class but it will have to wait, I'm in school with a very limited budget. I enjoy the way you write, and the trailer on the masterclass website was great, very funny and engaging. I've been writing for years but only for work; audit findings, reports, but nothing for pleasure, so that is where I need help. I need to find a switch that will turn on the juices.
Thanks for your time,
Gregg

Dear Judy I remember all your books so fondly and essential to my earlier years. Now at 43 I have bought them for my 9year old daughter. She, i am glad to say, loves them too. I dare not tell her I am slyly retreading them all again when she is in bed asleep.
Thank you for the joy of your books and that reassurance in my younger years. You were a blessing xx

I just finished reading DEENIE and it was like reading about myself. I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 12. I wore a full body brace for 3 1/2 years, 23 hours a day. I was diagnosed with thoracic scoliosis when I turned 16 and had to have an emergency spinal fusion, because my spine was not only curving but was twisting - which caused my lungs and heart to be fatally affected. My first spine surgery was in 1979 and since then, I have had 10+ spine surgeries due to degenerative disc disease. I have another spine surgery coming up this Summer 2019. Right now, 2/3rds of my spine is fused.

Judy, Thank you for writing books about scoliosis!! I would LOVE to talk to you about scoliosis affect from teen years through 55+ I think it would be a great book for you to write. I hope to hear back from you.

Dear Ms. Blume,
I am a first grade teacher in Baltimore. One of my small groups is currently reading Superfudge. We love the book and think it is hysterical. How did you come up with the idea for Fudge? He is so silly and we love how he bothers Peter. A lot of friends feel for Peter because they have annoying younger siblings too. Some of them said younger siblings are not annoying like that. Thank you for writing such a good higher level book that even my firsties can relate too!

I definitely think there should me more books, here are some ideas: when Fudge breaks his arm, starts First Grade for the first time,im not sure but whatever plot is is, Ms. Blume will make it super hilarious! I am such a big fan and your books are so relatable and funny! Could you make another book on periods and bras and going into puberty? thanks!

I love your book Freckle Juice. I read it and I loved it. I love books that have the word secret. I wanted to read your long books but I just chose to take the short one first. I heard you're still alive. Can you come to a country called Kenya and we meet for tea? I am a border in a certain school called Mount Kenya Academy. It is located in Nyeri County.

Greetings from the Bahamas! I just recently read Summer Sisters and I was reminded of how much I love your work! I loved the Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing Series, Tiger Eyes, Deeney! I thank God for you - you provided me and many of my friends with so many good loves, laughs, and identifiable experiences through your books! Now I am sharing those same experiences with my children who are finally old enough to enjoy some of the titles that I did when I was there age. Thank you so much Judy! You are truly a gifted writer. Also, if ever there were a part two to summer sisters, I think the world would enjoy it! Thanks for taking us along for the ride.

Dear Ms. Blume,

My class and I wanted to write you to tell you how much we have enjoyed your stories this year. I usually start the year off with "tails of a forth grade nothing" but, that wasn't enough for my class. They begged me to keep reading the rest of the series. Every time I finish a book, they want to read it during independent reading. I personally wanted to thank you for being such a great author and making my students love reading. We know you live close by in NYC. We would love if you would come by to meet us. We are just a quick drive over the river.

Thank you so much!

Dear Judy,

I may be late to the party. I've read none of your books. It's a shame. I learned about your writing and work through the lessons in Masterclass. And may I admit that you have a fan in me. I loved hearing your perspectives and your candid admissions of encountering failures and discovering characters, stories, and determination. I can't wait to begin reading all your books. I may have missed something in my childhood. But I am sure I have something to keep me entertained for the rest of my life.

Sending you my love and more exciting vibes for your book store.

Hi,

My name is Chance. I was wondering if the snail mail address was a good address for fan mail. I have read all of the books. I started in elementary school and just finished the most recent one after a 6 year hiatus from reading. I stopped reading after elementary school and I wish I didn't. There has been a lot of great books published since then. I am catching up though! Thank you for reading.

My best to you and yours,

Chance

Hello Ms. Blume,

My name is Michelle Salermo and I am a steward of a Little Free Library in the Elmora Hills section of Elizabeth, NJ.

My husband and I are both teachers in Elizabeth and we began this Little Free Library in order promote literacy in our community.

So far the Library has been stocked with books that have been donated from community members. It has become so popular that we are adding a second box soon and we even added a bookshelf inside our community center. For the book boxes my husband and I repurposed old newspaper dispenser.

I would like to know if it is possible for you to donate some of your books to add to our Free Little Library. It would be amazing to have some titles from someone as famous as you who grew up in this city.

Judy Blume

I wanted to say thank you. You have been my wife's favorite author her whole life and she was speechless when she got to meet you last year when you came to Case Western Reserve and signed her copies of your books for her.

I wanted to do something special for her on her 40th birthday coming this spring. As I am here typing, I can see on your post you are extremely busy with your new book. So I am not sure if you are touring at all close to Ohio so I could come and get another book or something signed by you with maybe a happy 40th in it. If you are and maybe your agent could email me dates, I would be extremely happy to be able to bring again to see you.

I am just grateful for you reading this and again wanted to say thank you for writing what you wanted and not what society said you should. After going with my wife and listening to you, I am a fan. Thank you again.

From a new fan and married to a life long fan.

Dear Judy,
I am a 42 year old English teacher in Melbourne, Australia. I spent my teenage years devouring your books, and it brings me immense joy to now share them with my own two sons, as well as the classes I teach.
I must tell you an incredible story: my son, Benjamin, spent the summer with his best friend, Gracie at our beach house. As she was swimming one day, he noticed one shoulder seemed higher than the other. Having read (and loved) 'Deenie', Ben suggested to Gracie that she may have scoliosis.
Her parents have since taken her to the doctor, and specialists, and yes, our dear Gracie does have scoliosis and is about to undergo surgery to correct this.
Whilst it is obviously distressing for Gracie and her family, we are all so grateful that Ben knew what to look for thanks to YOUR book.
The power of literature, the power of great stories; you have given so much to your readers over the generations, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
