Hi Judy & assistant,

I emailed my appreciation but felt it would be remiss of me not to include my thanks for your work on the guest book. Just another fan, really!

As mentioned, I think Wifey is my favourite of your books and I look forward to including that on a chart about reading and relaxation! I wonder whether that is more of a sleeper hit for you that is perhaps one of your quieter novel now, as it was so left-field when you published it, but society has changed so much! I adore Sandy and think it was really inspired that she wasn't quite so nice as that was a confusing time in her life. I love the way you document her journey and I had goosepimples reading it. A real delight!

I would love, if you want to discuss it, more of your inspiration for the book, although your author introduction was delightful.

I have yet to read Summer Sisters and Smart Women, but rest assured I can't wait to read those books. I mentioned this within the email.

Kind thanks,

Adrian

I grew up reading your books and loved them all! I even wanted to be "Deenie" at one time. My daughters do not have my appetite for reading, but I can get them to read a few books here and there. "Are You There God? It's me, Margaret," is one of their favorites. When my daughter, Kellie, was diagnosed with scoliosis, I knew she had to read "Deenie." She was reading to me today and got to the part of Deenie being in the examining room waiting for the doctor to arrive. Kellie felt such a connection and smiled and would read: The gown was so big that it wrapped around me twice. Kellie exclaimed: Just like me! And then when she read about Deenie twirling around on the gray stool, Kellie really laughed. Just like her again! Kellie picks up her brace next week and is very saddened by what she is envisioning her life to be like for the next two years. Basically, the only time she can take the brace off is for dance. She dances for hours every day and so she'll have to wear the brace every minute she's not dancing. I'm hoping that she finishes reading your book before we pick up the brace. I want her to know that it's not forever. I might mention that Kellie also has ADHD and Tourette's. She has been bullied a lot and now she fears of really being laughed at. I hug her and remind her that one day the brace will be gone and she'll still be dancing and following her dreams. I wonder where all the people will be who laughed at her? If you're too busy laughing at someone else, you don't have time to chase your dreams, right?
Thank you for sharing your gift! And I am beyond thrilled that my girls are reading your books and love them just as much as I did, and still do.
P.S. Even though she is 13, I let her read "Forever." Anything I can do to get her to read

Dear Judy,
I grew up reading your books and when I saw "In The Unlikely Event" It was like meeting an old friend, just had to read it. I've just finished it and I have to say, it was more than I expected. It wasn't just a trip down memory lane with my favorite childhood author, but the stories and personal events really hit home. Again, your book has come to me at the exact right time in my life. Thank you so much! I love you Judy Blume!

Good day,
I just want to thank you for inspiring my love of reading. When I was in first grade, my parents were going through a divorce, since that was the time I was starting to learn to read, the stress made concentrating almost impossible. I struggled with reading for a few years. One day a lady at the local park, commented on my freckles, I said I hated them, and she told me about the book "freckle juice". Over the next few years I read all of your books enthusiastically. I loved them, and they inspired a love of reading that I have to this day! Now my daughter is seven, and she saw me reading "summer sisters", she asked me about it and I got a chance to gush about how much I loved your books as a young girl. Tonight we start "freckle juice" and I plan to get all your books for her as she grows older. Thanks again and gods blessing to you.

I'm a professor at a University in Guatemala and I teach Literature. Our mother tongue is Spanish, but I am teaching students who want to become English teachers, one of the projects I gave them was to read the 5 Fudge's books. I really like your books and I think, we as teachers should know authors like you and use your literature to teach English. I always tell my wife that some day I'll write a book. I'll keep my dream until it becomes real. God bless you!

I have been a fan of judy Blume since I was a child. Of all the books I read as a child "tales of a fourth grade nothing " always stuck with me. I have just purchased the audio book of in the unlikely event and loving it.

I would deeply love to purchase a copy of the audio book for tales of a fourth grade nothing to share with my own children - especially as I see judy herself is the narrator. I think it would be fantastic to hear it in the authors voice. However all the sites I visit inform me that it is not available to be sold in Australia is there a reason for that ? Does anyone know a way to purchase this in Australia ? I would be very thankful. Sincerely , Carly

Dear Mrs. Blume,

My third grade class just finished reading the last of the Fudge books. We have enjoyed reading the books all year long. We have laughed and laughed at Fudge's antics. We have had many great discussions about the stories throughout this school year. We are really going to miss Fudge, Peter, Tootsie, and the whole Hatcher family. Thank you for the fun times and memories.

Helloha Judy! (My catchphrase is Helloha.) My goal this Summer is to read all your books for teens. That includes, Deenie, Blubber, Forever, Fudge-a-mania, and Iggie's House. But that's not all. I am the biggest reader in my class, and I read, read, read! I already got a list of books I want to read over the Summer, and it includes 357 books already. (Whoah! Most of them are Babysitters Club. It's one of my favorite series.) I want to add more books, too!

I grew up reading your books. Tales of the fourth grade nothing and the whole series, was and still are the best booksI read as a child. I recently went and purchased them for my 9 year old son. To see him coming out of his room, with super fudge in his hand, and tears streaming down his face, as he tried to read out loud a paragraph from the book, that had him in stitches, pulled my heart strings!!! Thank you for that special moment, needless to say, he now call his younger sister "fudge"

Hi Judy, just re-discovered your books at the grand old age of 47! The first one I read was 'Are you there God, it's me Margaret' I was 10, it had such a profound effect on not only my life, but also on my friends, as we grew up in Glasgow, we passed around your many books, we grew with every book, and became young women alongside them. I often wanted to go back to those early days and read them for the first time again. The years passed by, life got in the way, as it does. Now I am a lady of leisure, living in the Middle East with my husband, proud owner of a Kindle, able to devour books once more with the vigour I had in those early days. Nothing like the smell of a book though.
Anyway just wanted to thank you for your books and how they were an integral part of my growing up, how they helped me through things I couldn't talk to my own mum about.
Hope you are well.
Thank you so much. Sandra xx

After obtaining my teaching certificate in 1980, I was a substitute teacher for about a year. Whenever I was assigned to an elementary school classroom I carried in my bag of tricks "Freckle Juice." When things got tough or I needed to capture attention - I'd pull out your book and soon had the the attention needed. I would stop reading with the promise of continuing after they finished the required class work. Never failed. Fast forward a few decades and I'm subbing again - and yes, "Freckle Juice" is still in my bag of tricks. Thanks.

Dear Ms. Blume,
Hi I read an article today where you said ""I'm done with long novels. This book ('Unlikely Event') took five years and I am 78, so it's a good one to go out on. But I'm not saying I won't do something smaller, shorter, that doesn't take so long. I have a little idea"

I wanted to ask if the idea that you have is for another fudge book? I Hope it is I would love to read another fudge book. Thank you so much.
