Dear Judy Blume
Hello,my name is Edie. I am 13 in July.
The reason I am writing to you is because of your book Deenie. I really love it, and really want it to be a movie... Please could you suggest this to Disney or other studios.
If they think it'd a good idea, would you let me know please ? I would love to try for the part of Deenie or her friends (Midge,Janet or Barbra)
I am also reading 'Here's to you Rachel Robinson' and have finished 'Are u there God its me Margret'. They are both amazing.

Dear, Judy Blume.

I'm learning to drive a five speed. I've been really terrified. Today I told myself if I could get to the Goodwill I would reward myself with a book. Well, I made it with only one person yelling at me. Accomplishment. I walked into Goodwill like a queen. After pilfering through the shelf I spotted five of your books. My heart leapt. I was very limited on money, but for .47 cents...wow! When I got to the counter the lady told me that Goodwill changed book prices and they would be 1.27 apiece. My heart sunk like a boulder in a lake. "Oh. Okay. I have enough for only two." I picked out 'Tales of a fourth grade nothing' and 'Superfudge'. I left after feeling humiliated by counting all my change out in front of a line of people and left with my head down. A moment later I heard, "Ma'am. Ma'am!"
I turned to see a stranger running at me.
"Did I forget something?" I had tears in my eyes from embarrassment and just wanted to go.
Sbe held out 'Blubber', 'Superfudge', and 'Iggie's House'. Tears really welled up now and I gasped.
Choked up I asked if I could hug her. She let me.
What that lady will never know is I have been trying to have a baby for four years. I have a chest I'm filling with books for my future kids. My faith chest. I've always dreamed of reading Judy Blume to my children...
Now when I see these books I'll always remember the lady with curly hair...an angel running to me across the parking lot. I took this as a sign that God will let me read Judy Blume to my children one day.
I will tell them this story.
And when they see these books an angel bought for them...they'll see what I do. Blessings come when least expected.

I have a complete Judy Blume Diary. Its the only diary I kept - the rest I burned because I was too embarrassed to see what I wrote in them. This one is actually a little cute. I was 16 and 16. Its beautifully written even if I do say so myself. I would love to publish it, with names changed to protect the not so innocent, but I think you would get a giggle. It's so full of teenage angst. It's on your pages but in my writing. Let me know if you're interested.

Just finished N THE UNLIKELY EVENT. Had to tell you that you got it ALL right - those years - you brought back memories. Then going into the internet and reading your essay about you and Mary. That was me and Harriett -
Many friends of that era gone - you wrote:"...to have someone to remember with you."
Yes. Such a need.
I chatted with you once in an elevator at an SCBWI conference in CA. Thanks for all you've done for children's writers -

We like your creative and exciting books. Fudge is awesome because he is hilarious!

Where do you get your ideas for your books? Are your books based on real characters? We wish we could write just like you.

Can you write a book about Fudge getting older? What about a book about Tootsie being like Fudge when Fudge was young?

Thank you for writing these amazing books that kids all around the world like to read.
