Thank you, thank you for all your wonderful notes. I only wish I could respond to each of you personally. But in order to start a new book I need serious thinking time, which means less time for e-mail. Hope you understand. Just want you to know that my assistant and I read this guestbook every day, and that your continued love and support are a constant inspiration.

Hello. I am Gabriella, a senior at Amador High School in Sutter Creek, California. For my AP English class we are required to present a senior project on any topic we would like. My topic is book banning and challenging. I understand that you have experience with this problem. I was hoping that I might be able to interview you for my project so that I can create a better argument as to why books should not be banned. I understand that you are a busy person, and that It may not be possible to have this interview, but I would really enjoy having one. Thank you for writing books!

Jack W

Ran across Unlikely Event by chance and you and I remember the same Elizabeth. I lived in Roselle until 1948 and used to shop for a neighbor lady at the A&P on Elmora Avenue. Then they had bus 49 with overhead wires from Elizabeth to Dunellen, and those gray squat buses--e.g., 24 (Singer) 28 (Bayway which used Westfield Ave.), and more. Before they redid the Jersey Central, it ran from Broad Street Station east to Jersey City, with the Pennsylvania Railroad crossing above it there. As a kid, I played in Warinanco Park (bordering Roselle, Elizabeth, and Linden). Also went to day camp at the YMCA--think it was about 2 blocks east of Broad and parallel to it. The counselor of my group, as it was, attended Jefferson High. I could draw a map by hand connecting Broad Street with Morris Ave et. al., even today. Attended St. Joseph School in Roselle (for my most regretted 6 years of education--wish I had been allowed to stay at Harrison E. S., then go on to Abraham Clark). Moved to Charleston, SC in 1948 and never returned to live in NJ as it happened. Heard the awful news of the plane crashes after I left. Today, I'm a retired professor (specialist in Modern Mexico and the Caribbean). My wife well acquainted with your children's books--well, the other ones too. We're fewer each year who recall Elizabeth of our time. Good health and best wishes wherever you may be today!
PS I can be "googled." John B Williman (Ph.D.)

Hi, Judy. I'm currently working a project about you, and i had a question. What inspired you to start writing and become an author? And who influenced some of your works?

Hometown: Henry - Posted February 2, 2017 7:44 am

Mrs. Kent's Reading Class

We are reading Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. We like reading how Fudge gets into a lot of mischief. We LOVE your books!
How do you get your ideas for what happens in your stories?

Are you still writing books or are you retired? Would you be available to face time with us?

You have really inspired our class to do more reading and writing! Thank you for writing such entertaining books!

Thank you so much for sharing your ideas and stories with us all. Summer Sisters has stayed with me since I first read it in junior high school. Until this day, I find myself wondering what happened to Caitlyn. Do you plan on ever revealing what you think happened to her/what you saw happening to her to your readers? Or do you hope to keep it a mystery? I would love to know how you saw her mystery unfold. Love you to from Canada. xoxo

why did you start writing. can you come meet me pleas!

Hi Judy Blume,
Let me say, I have been reading your books for the past 5 years and they are probably the best books I have ever read! I especially like the series 'Just as Long as W'ere Together' and 'Here's to you Rachel Robinson'. These books are so relatable in middle school and I have probably read them each like 10 times! I just had one question. Why don't you create a third book in Alison's point of view? I mean this series is SOOO GOOD but I still want to know what happens with Alison's mother and what not! Anyway I just wanted to tell you that you are such an inspirational author and probably the best author of all time!

If I mail you a book would you sign and personalize it to a friend for me? I would send you $$ for the return postage.

Hometown: Freeport, Bahamas - Posted January 16, 2017 6:16 pm

Dear Mrs. Blume,

I have read your books repetitively, even past my childhood. As an adult, I still look back and realize how much of an influence your books had on shaping me as a person. You are the best and I love you for the impact your books have had on me and my personality. You are my all-time favorite author.

Thank you so very much for sharing your creative talent with me and the rest of the world.

Yours truly,
