Judy, Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing was a book I'll never ever forget. My fourth grade teacher read it to us, and it was amazing. You are absolutely wonderful and your book is really amazing. I'll never forget it!

When I was growing up I always had a Judy Blume book (..or several) on my nightstand table. I found her through the Fudge books around the 4th grade, and as I got older, Judy came right with me. "Margaret" helped me *so* much at such an awkward age, I'll always remember what it did for me and now my daughter, recently turning ten, has found Judy as well! Thank you so much Judy for giving us these wonderful characters that are absolutely ageless.

I read Are you there, god? Its me, Margaret and i thought you wrote it as it was!!
I dunno about that thing with two minutes in the Bathroom, but the growing up, club with friends, and margaret's worry about her period.. it's so real!!

Just spent some time reminiscing about the life and times of your awesome stories I read in elementary school. I was never allowed to read "Forever". After all these years, I might just have to download that on my kindle. Publishing my first book this summer which is why I visited your site. When I was young, I'd cover up your last name, and pretend it was my book. If only...thank you for all of the many hours of enjoyment reading about characters who could easily have been my friends. Much love to you. Judy

Message for Judy if possible. hi Judy, I am a retired teacher of 3rd graders. I have read your books orally over and over again and made Freckle Juice more times than I care to count. The Pain and the Great One hit home when my two daughters could so relate even though they were the same genders. Now I teach a Literacy course in the College of Education at my alumini university where I continue to recommend Judy Blume books as read alouds or introducing to students as an author for independent reading.
This past summer my married daughter wanted to have the first mother/daughter book club in her neighborhood mostly 3rd grade daughters. I was asked what book. I suggested SHEILA, THE GREAT! Moms and daughters read it and the night was a success. I saw you on 60 minutes and read about you and your son's joint venture turning Tiger Eyes into a movie. That was one book I hadn't read. I immediately downloaded it on my Kindle and loved it! I will wait a few years before I recommend it to my granddaughter. Now I can't wait to see the movie. So glad you continue to add to your repertoire. You still make me smile and cry!

I just wanted to thank you so much for the reply to my son's guestbook comments. He was so thrilled to receive your email. I was too. Julien is nine years old and has autism. He has a book report to do for school and he chose Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. He has difficulty with comprehension, so I was hoping he would be able to follow what was going on in the story. This was a big jump from what he normally reads. Much to my surprise, he not only understood the story, he couldn't get enough of it. He was however very sad when Fudge ate Dribble. He was in tears and he sobbed for almost twenty minutes. Many, many thanks to you for a fantastic book. It was a special experience for us to share.

Hometown: Rockville Centre, NY - Posted March 2, 2013 6:27 pm

I saw you on the PBS Makers program. Fantastic! As a kid, I read your hits...never did I really stop to reflect and consider how your efforts as a woman, let alone an author, have contributed to my own ability to succeed and continue to explore the opportunities. Thank you.

Judy the first time I read a book written by you, I was in 4th grade Tales of A Fourth Grade Nothing. I was hooked. I could relate to your characters and being shy I didn't always want to ask my mom. Now I have an 8 year old daughter that is asking a lot of questions and I am going to introduce her to your books. I think in many ways she'll relate to the characters as I did. I am so glad you are still writing and that my daughter will enjoy your books too.

Hometown: New York - Posted March 1, 2013 11:34 am

Judy, I hope that you know that your books made a world of difference to girls who grew up in the 1970s/1980s.

They don't make authors like you anymore. I am so grateful that we have you. You've made the world a better place for so many kids.

Hometown: Elliot Lake Ontario Canada - Posted March 1, 2013 6:09 am

Judy, your books touched the lives of so many of us women in our 30's/40's. When I read your books as a child, it felt like I had written them, they mirrored my own thoughts so exactly. I remembered being shocked seeing a photo of Judy Blume, and you were an adult, ha! I felt so comforted that there was @ least one adult in the world that understood how it felt to be a kid.

Hometown: Corona, CA - Posted February 28, 2013 10:48 pm

I read your books as a child, and tonight I start reading DoubleFudge with my two kids. We have read all the Fudge books and are a little sad this will be the last one. You were my favorite author as a kid, and I am so happy to be introducing your books to my kids. Just wanted to say thanks for all the great books over the years, we love them and they have stood the test of time. We will read the Pain & the Great One series next!

Hometown: Montclair, NJ - Posted February 26, 2013 10:59 pm

Judy, I just watched the PBS show on the feminist movement. You seemed very self-effacing; as if you were unaware of the huge impact you had on an entire generation of girls through your novels. Please know that you educated me about all kinds of issues that "pre-revolution mothers" simply weren't able to discuss...you made many girls growing up in the 70's and 80's aware of alternative viewpoints and options. Thank you so much and be proud!

Hometown: Windsor - Posted February 26, 2013 7:09 pm
