Dear Judy
Every year, I do a read-a-loud in 3rd grade and set up my rewards system by making FudgeBucks money...and a FudgeBuckStore.
I recently shared with my class that you have cancer, and we would like to write to you.
I am making a lesson booklet around your books.
I hope you get better soon..

Dear Judy,
This week we read your book "The Pain and the Great One". We really loved reading your book it made us laugh. Our favorite part was when we read about how the Pain and the Great One missed each other when they were apart. You are such a great author, we are practicing to become authors this year in 3rd grade.

Love,

Judy, thank you so much for letting us be a part of your life and get to read about what's going on in yours! I have read your blog and was so happy that you are winning against cancer. I just had my second mammogram and had to get an instant ultrasound as there was something suspicious. Luckily, it was not cancer! While I am not fortunate enough to have small breasts, I do have the dense issue. That coupled with mastitis when I weaned my son so many years ago, made the mammogram more difficult. I would encourage others with fibrous/dense breasts to get the mammogram, ultrasound and sonograms, and other testing needed and celebrate the great technologies that help so many to find cancer as early as possible. Also, do not let money or insurance be a hindrance to your health. There are many great organizations which help you to get the services that you need. I know whereof I speak!
I am inspired by others with breast cancers, which includes my classmates, friends, family, neighbors and strangers. I'm walking in a local Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Houston again this year. I am adding your name to my list of survivors!
I began with being hooked on your books as a young girl and teen. I got a teaching degree and then I went into librarian-ship and continued to share the passion for your books with other generations. As an adult, I've read your adult books and been equally entertained. I hope that you will be able to continue writing as your health permits and letting your important words out into the world!

Dear Judy Blume,
I just finished reading Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. It ras funny and realy good. I have a brother just like Fudge. The funniest part was at the end when Fudge said he wanted to touch the bears. Imagine what he would do if he met a bear in real life! I one time swallowed one of my teeth when I was eighteen months old. I can't decide which book I want to read next! They all seem so good! Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing is one of the best books I have read in my life!

Dear Judy Blume,
My class just got done reading Tales Of A Fourth Grade Nothing. My favorite part was when Fudge thought he was a bird and made his two top front teath come out. I thought it was funny when Peter reacted the way he did. I really liked the part when Fudge ate Dribble. When Fudge ate Dribble I was thinking how could he fit Dribble in is mouth? I also thought it was funny how Fudge calls Peter Pee-tah. Another one of my favrite parts is when Ralph throws-up all over the place and Mrs. Hatcher has to clean it up. It was also funny when peter had to supervise the kids while the kids play the games. It was funny when Peter had to show the kids what to do with the balloons. It was also funny when Jenny peed on the floor and Peter's mom had to clean it up again.

Dear Judy Blume,
Our class just finished reading Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing-Great book!!!!! I loved when Mr.Hatcher took Fudge in one hand and the cereal in the other then went to the bathroom and Mr.Hatcher put Fudge in the bathtub and dumped the cereal on Fudge. Eat it or wear it!!! As I read, I wonderd how you got the ideas. I thought it was funny-but sad when Fudge ate Dribble. I thought it was funny but unfair how Peter always had to save the day and funny but SO gross when Jenny "made tinkle" on the rug. I LOVE YOUR BOOKS!!!
