Thank you, thank you for all your wonderful notes. I only wish I could respond to each of you personally. But in order to start a new book I need serious thinking time, which means less time for e-mail. Hope you understand. Just want you to know that my assistant and I read this guestbook every day, and that your continued love and support are a constant inspiration.

Dear Judy,

I have been reading your books since I was 8 years old and they have brought me so much joy, companionship and entertainment! My favorite was always Margaret. I must have read her story 40-50 times. She saw me through those years. I still think about her often and, at 51, I wonder what she is thinking now. How does she feel about menopause? Is she still talking to God? Did she ever figure out how she wanted to address spirituality and religion?

Would you ever consider visiting her story again?

Thank you so much for all the wonderful hours of reading!

Dear Mrs. Blume,
My name is Conner and I am 10 years old. I am doing research on you for an oral report I will be doing in school. I have read many of your books. Sleepy Saturdays, Cool Zone, Freckle Juice, It's Not the End of the World and many more. My mom's favorite is Dear God It's me Margaret. I know that you are very busy writing new books for readers to enjoy but I was hoping if you had the time if you could tell me anything about yourself and or your work. Where do you get your ideas for your books, how long does it take you to write one. Anything at all would be amazing. I don't want to take up anymore of your time so I will end it here and let you get back to work on your next book!
Thank you, Conner

Dear, Judy Blume.

I'm learning to drive a five speed. I've been really terrified. Today I told myself if I could get to the Goodwill I would reward myself with a book. Well, I made it with only one person yelling at me. Accomplishment. I walked into Goodwill like a queen. After pilfering through the shelf I spotted five of your books. My heart leapt. I was very limited on money, but for .47 cents...wow! When I got to the counter the lady told me that Goodwill changed book prices and they would be 1.27 apiece. My heart sunk like a boulder in a lake. "Oh. Okay. I have enough for only two." I picked out 'Tales of a fourth grade nothing' and 'Superfudge'. I left after feeling humiliated by counting all my change out in front of a line of people and left with my head down. A moment later I heard, "Ma'am. Ma'am!"
I turned to see a stranger running at me.
"Did I forget something?" I had tears in my eyes from embarrassment and just wanted to go.
Sbe held out 'Blubber', 'Superfudge', and 'Iggie's House'. Tears really welled up now and I gasped.
Choked up I asked if I could hug her. She let me.
What that lady will never know is I have been trying to have a baby for four years. I have a chest I'm filling with books for my future kids. My faith chest. I've always dreamed of reading Judy Blume to my children...
Now when I see these books I'll always remember the lady with curly hair...an angel running to me across the parking lot. I took this as a sign that God will let me read Judy Blume to my children one day.
I will tell them this story.
And when they see these books an angel bought for them...they'll see what I do. Blessings come when least expected.
